Article published: “Micro-credentials can stimulate diversity of provision”
The report with recommendations from the MICROBOL project on micro-credentials, has been published in response to the European Commission’s proposal for a Council recommendation on micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability.
On the website of University World News, a recent article, Micro-credentials can stimulate diversity of provision, presents the MICROBOL recommendations and how they were developed. The University World News is the first high-quality truly international newspaper and website for Higher Education.
The article highlights that micro-credentials provide a stimulus to rethink higher education’s role in lifelong learning – with learners very much at the centre. They should be understood as learning opportunities provided before, during and after higher education studies leading to a degree.
The holistic approach provided in the MICROBOL recommendations represents a step towards building a common ground for further policies on the topic.
